National conference on sustainability opens in HN

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc presided over a national conference on sustainable development themed “For a more sustainable decade towards 2030.”

The event drew the participation of National Assembly Permanent Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam, over 700 delegates who represented Party, State, Government agencies, businesses, embassies, as well as international organizations.  

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy PM Dam affirmed that Viet Nam has spared no effort to fulfill Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and attained achievements. The country always shows its strong commitments to fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development for the sustainable development of the UN. The Government issued the national action plan on sustainable growth with 115 criteria and combined it to all guidelines, policies, and action plans. 

Deputy PM Dam stressed that it is unable to acquire sustainable growth without accurate, drastic, and synchronous action from all levels, sectors, business community, people, and cooperation of the international community. 

The Government leader called upon joint efforts to fulfill the goal on sustainable growth in accordance with the UN-initiated 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In the morning, the conference discussed important topics including circulation  economy, PPP, human resources development towards national competitiveness and sustainable growth. 

Chairman of the Viet Nam Chamber of Industry and Trade Vu Tien Loc who is the Chairman of the Business Council for Sustainable Growth delivered a report on raising competitiveness of the private economy and strengthening PPP relations towards a more sustainable decade. 

In the afternoon, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired the plenary session./.
