National Steering Board for AIPA-31 presents itself

VGP – Việt Nam’s National Steering Board for the 31st ASEAN Inter-parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-31) made debut in Hà Nội on Monday.

The Board introduced resolutions issued by the NA Standing Committee (NASC) on establishing the Secretariat and the Organization Committee.

The NASC also decided to appoint NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng as the Head of the Steering Board.

At the ceremony, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng stated that in 2010, the AIPA Year, Việt Nam resumes the rotary Presidency of AIPA and hosts its 31st plenary session.

He also stressed thorough preparations ensuring security for AIPA and ASEAN operations during the year when Việt Nam undertakes the ASEAN Chairmanship.
