National Committee on Coronavirus prevention and control established
VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided to establish a steering committee on prevention of acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (nCoV), led by Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam.
Deputy Ministers of Health Do Xuan Tuyen and Nguyen Truong Son are deputy heads of the steering committee.
Members the agency include Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Chief of the Party Central Committee's Office Nguyen Dac Vinh, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs To Anh Dung, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education Nguyen Thanh Long, Deputy Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Sy Hiep; Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Office Pham Thuy Chinh, Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Son, and others.
The Ministry of Health serves as the permanent body of the steering committee.
The steering committee is responsible for assisting the Prime Minister in directing ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and localities to prevent and control the epidemic./.
