National Assembly to convene on October 22
VGP - The National Assembly will convene in Ha Noi on October 22 for the fourth session of the 13th tenure, with many revised laws on the agenda, including those on anti-corruption, tax management and personal income tax.
At a press briefing on October 19, the NA Office said the session, which will last through November 22, lawmakers will also give comments on the draft revisions to the 1992 Constitution.
The amendments will be discussed for two days and broadcast live, and the whole draft amended Constitution will be available for public feedback between January and March next year.
A resolution on collecting public opinions on the draft revisions to the 1992 Constitution will be passed at this session.
The NA are also expected to ratify a resolution on procedures to conduct votes of confidence for positions elected and approved by the National Assembly or local People’s Councils.
Other amended laws that will obtain formal approval cover lawyers, cooperatives, electricity and the capital city.
According to Nguyen Sy Dung, deputy head of the NA’s Office, the NA will set aside 10 days to discuss the Government’s report on the implementation of socio-economic plans in 2012 and plans for 2013, the execution of the State budget for 2012 and budget estimation for 2013 as well as a project that aims to restructure the economy. Two and a half days will be provided for Q&A sessions.
A new feature of this meeting, Dung said, is that a majority of important programs will be broadcast live.
“There will be 13 live broadcast sessions, an increase of five from the previous meeting. A number of them are debates and ratifications of resolutions,” he said. - VNA
