National Assembly ratifies five laws more

VNGOVNet – On November 22, the National Assembly voted to ratify five bills on Tax Management, Dykes, Technological Transfer, Residence, and Notarial Service with a majority of approval.

November 22, 2006 10:38 PM GMT+7

The Bill on Technological Transfer was put into intensive discussion to make sure it will not overlap the Law on Science and Technology. Most of the NA deputies agreed the establishment of the National Fund for Technological Renewal (old Article 44 – new Article 39) to support technological transfer and renewal. This seven-chapter 61-article law will come into effect on July 1, 2007.

The Law on Residence allows a citizen to register his/her permanent residence in centrally-administered cities if he/she has a legal accommodation and has continuously stayed in the city for at least one year. This stipulation is also applicable to those who are renting or borrowing an accommodation, in which case a written evidence is required. The law provides that a holder of permanent residence register is eligible to admit his/her spouse and children to his/her current accommodation.
