Nation streasures brainpower and ardor of overseas Vietnamese

VGP – Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh called for brainpower and ardor of overseas Vietnamese to build a strong and prosperous country while addressing the Conference for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday.

The conference, attended by 500 overseas Vietnamese from 36 countries and territories, aimed to seek ways to turn the city into one of the major economic, financial, trade, scientific-technological centers of Southeast Asia.

Deputy PM, FM Minh affirmed that the Party and State always consider the overseas Vietnamese community an integral part of the nation and treasure their contributions to national development.

He asked conference to discuss on potentials and challenges facing the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular to put forward measures for the country to achieve fast and sustainable development.

The Deputy PM, FM also asked the participants to their share lessons and experience in various fields with Ho Chi Minh City.

Viet Nam’s remittance lures over US$10 billion in overseas remittance per year, a significant figure that has contributed effectively to national development./.
