VGP – The 2016 Asian Beach Games (ABG -2016) is scheduled to take place in June 2016 in the Southern coastal city of Nha Trang, central province of Da Nang and Binh Thuan province.

January 29, 2013 6:53 PM GMT+7

Viet Nam is famous for beautiful beaches

Viet Nam moved past Chinese Taipei at the last minute to win the right to host the multi-sport games.

Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan has signed an organization project for the event.

The ABG-2016 will consist of 17 games, including football, volleyball, wood ball, handball, water ball, basket ball, marathon swimming, kabaddi, boat racing, water skiing, pencaksilat, dragon boat racing, vovinam, wrestling and sepak takraw.

Around 2,500 coaches and athletes from 45 Asian countries and territories are expected to join the event.

This is expected a good opportunity for Viet Nam to introduce the cultural and maritime tourism values to international friends.

Earlier, Phuket of Thailand will host the fourth Asian Beach Games in 2014./.
