NA relieves DPM Trinh Dinh Dung and several Cabinet members

VGP - The National Assembly on April 7 approved the relief of Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung and 12 Cabinet members.

The ongoing 11th session of the 14th-tenure National Assembly

The aforesaid Cabinet members include seven ministers who are not members of the 13th Party Central Committee, namely Minister of National Defense Ngo Xuan Lich, Minister of Home Affairs Le Vinh Tan, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha and Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha.

The legislators also relieved Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh from the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tran Tuan Anh from the post of Minister of Industry and Trade as he had been assigned as Chairman of the CPVCC Economic Commission, Dinh Tien Dung from the post of Minister of Finance as he had been assigned as Secretary of the Ha Noi Municipal Party Committee, and Do Van Chien from the post of Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs.

Le Minh Khai, Government Chief Inspector was also relieved from his current post as he was nominated as candidate for Deputy Prime Minister.

The same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh submitted a list of two Deputy Prime Ministerial and 12 Ministerial candidates to the legislative body for approval.

The National Assembly is expected to vote on the new list and announce results on April 8 morning./.
