At the discussion, Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh explained and made clear about issues raised by deputies about the ratification of the CPTPP.

At the closing session, NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong  said that NA deputies approved of the State President’s Report on the ratification of the CPTPP and relevant documents. Deputies acknowledged that the ratification is an important political decision, showing Viet Nam’s active international integration. The ratification also helped to raise the country’s status and capability in response to international economic influences; speed up the progress of negotiation and signing of other FTAs.

However, NA deputies proposed the necessity to amend related legal documents; optimize business opportunities; and minimize risks.

The NA will finalize the draft resolution and submit it for ratification on November 12.

The same day, the deputies listened to a report on the pilot implementation of Resolution No. 30/2016/QH14 on the issuance of e-visa for foreigners to enter Viet Nam before discussing the extension of the measure.

In the afternoon, they gave ideas on a number of contents of the draft Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, which comprises of eight chapters and 48 articles./.
