NA delegation tours European countries

VNGOP – Two senior delegations of the Vietnam National Assembly headed by Deputy NA Chairmen Trương Quang Được and Nguyễn Văn Yểu paid separate visits from May 27 to June 8 to Italy, Switzerland and Greece, and Holland respectively.

In Italy, Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Carlo Leoni committed that the Italian parliament would further develop the relations between the two legislative bodies and be ready to support Viet Nam on international forums.

Receiving Deputy NA Chairman Trương Quang Được, Ms. Christine Egerszegi-Obrist, President of Swiss National Council, said that Switzerland was interested at Vietnam’s strong economic performance and supported the country in combining economic development with social equality, environmental protection and narrowing development gaps among localities.

In Greece, the Vietnamese legislative official worked with Chairman of the Greek Parliament’s Committee for Economic Affairs Skrekas K. Theodoros and met some Vietnamese representatives in Greece.

During his working sessions and meetings, Deputy NA Chairman Trương Quang Được said Vietnam wishes to build the relations with the hosting countries on a trustful and sustainable partnership. He expressed his hope that the legislative bodies of Vietnam and these countries would boost exchanges of MPs delegations and set up friendship parliamentarian groups to tighten bilateral cooperation.
An ever highest NA delegation headed by Deputy NA Chairman Nguyễn Văn Yểu paid a visit to Holland.

Deputy NA Chairman Nguyễn Văn Yểu briefed Vietnam's situation and her NA's formation and development. He thanked Holland for its support to Vietnam's reform and national construction through practical and fruitful programs and projects..

President Gerdi A. Verbeet and Vice President J. Ten Hoopen of the Dutch House expressed their desire to cement ties with Vietnam. The officials exchanged their expertise in legislative work and organizing the apparatus of the two parliaments.

The NA delegation also had working sessions with the House of Representatives’ Committee for Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
