NA Standing Committee proposes annual vote of confidence

VGP – The National Assembly Standing Committee proposed annual vote of confidence to key elected and appointed personnel in the State apparatus, according to the Committee’s draft project on renovating the performance of the legislature.

The outcomes of the votes will be made public, says the project which was introduced at the on-going working session of the 13th National Assembly.

The posts subjected to annual vote of confidence include the State President, the National Assembly Chairman and the Prime Minister, the Vice State President, Vice Chairpersons of the National Assembly, members of the NA Standing Committee, Cabinet members, the Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court, the director of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, and the Chief Auditor of the State Audit of Vietnam.

Those who could not earn more than half of the votes from lawmakers twice consecutively would be considered for resignation or dismissal by the legislature, said Chairman of the NA  Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc.

The National Assembly is expected to approve the project on June 21.
