NA Chairwoman welcomes Myanmar guest

VGP – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan received Deputy Speaker of House of Nationalities Aye Thar Aung on March 8 in Ha Noi.

Chairwoman Ngan welcomed the Deputy Speaker and the delegation on their working visit to Viet Nam; congratulated Myanmar on its socio-economic achievements attained over the past time. She was also convinced that Myanmar would succeed in national reconciliation and harmony and higher regional and international status. 

Deputy Speaker of House of Nationalities Aye Thar Aung assessed that Viet Nam has increasingly affirmed its status. The guest leader also praised the achievements which Viet Nam attained and hoped to learn from valuable experience in the country's national building and development. 

According to Mr. Aye Thar Aung, Myanmar and Viet Nam enjoyed the traditional and close ties which have been nurtured by generations of leaders and people. Both sides expected to cement and deepen the bilateral ties in all aspects including Party, National Assembly, Government, people-to-people. 

Chairwoman Ngan emphasized that the two countries established the comprehensive cooperative partnership in 2017 on the occasion of the State visit of Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to Myanmar. Viet Nam, affirmed the host leader, stands ready to share its nation-construction and development experience with Myanmar.

She proposed the two countries early set up a deputy ministerial-level policy dialogue mechanism; negotiate and promote the signing of cooperative deals in agro-forestry-fishery area, transport, and justice. The host leader suggested Myanmar create favorable ways for Vietnamese enterprises to do profitable business in Myanmar. 

The guest leader said that Myanmar seeks foreign investment for national construction and development. The Myanmar’s Parliament has spared no effort to resolve obstacles to attract foreign investment including that from Vietnamese enterprises./.
