NA Chairwoman suggests more Busan businesses invest in VN

VGP – National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan asserted that the Republic of Korea (RoK) has been the top trade partner of Viet Nam and the success of the RoK’s investors in Viet Nam is the symbol in the two sides’ economic cooperation.

Ms. Ngan made that statement while meeting Mayor of Busan city Oh Keo-don on December 4 in Seoul, the RoK.

Viet Nam attaches great importance to its ties with the RoK as the two countries share historical and cultural similarities, she asserted, highlighting the need to promote ties between the two countries’ localities outside of governmental and parliamentary links.

Lauding cooperative ties between Busan and Ho Chi Minh City over the past two decades, the Vietnamese leader expressed her delight at the fact that one fourth of Korean investors in Viet Nam come from Busan.

She highly appraised the RoK as one of the top trade and investment partners of Viet Nam, expressing her wish that more Busan businesses would invest in Viet Nam.

According to Ngan, the number of Vietnamese people living and working in the RoK is equivalent to the total Korean population in Viet Nam. As well as locality-to-locality cooperation, she called for stepping up people-to-people exchange.

Expressing her thanks to Busan authorities for providing positive support for Vietnamese nationals in the locality, she hailed Busan for its preparations for the establishment of a support centre for Viet Nam-RoK families.

Along with refining legal regulations and creating a fair business environment for foreign firms, Viet Nam also advocates a policy of protecting foreign citizens, including Koreans, in the country, she affirmed.

Mayor Oh Keo-don expressed his belief that Viet Nam will further thrive and that both countries should partner up for mutual development.
