NA Chairwoman meets President of Russia’s Tatarstan

VGP – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on December 9 met with President of the Republic of Tartastan, Russia, Rustam Minnikhanov.

At the reception, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan affirmed Viet Nam’s recognition of great importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, regarding this as one of the top priorities in its foreign policy.

The Vietnamese NA always supports the further strengthening of the comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Russia, Ngan stressed and said that the diplomatic and political relations between the two countries are developing well. 

She also expressed her confidence that economic, trade, investment cooperation and cross-cultural exchanges and tourism between Vietnamese localities and Tatarstan will continue growing steadily in the time ahead.

Ngan hopes the President will facilitate the Vietnamese community there in their life and work. In reply, the President expressed his support for Vietnamese students studying there, and held that the roles of the two law-making bodies are very important in the acceleration of the bilateral relations, she added.

In turn, President Minnikhanov told his guest that his republic places importance on relations with Viet Nam, and thanked Vietnamese leaders for their support to the enhancement of relations and cooperation between the two countries’ localities.

Bilateral economic relations and trade have yet to match with the potential, and both sides need to further foster relations in order to increase trade, he noted. The president briefed the Vietnamese NA leader on his republic’s potential and pointed to the fields the two sides are able to cooperate in such areas as education, science and tourism.
