More than US $2.1 mln for young child care

VGP – The Institute of Population and Development, administered by the General Office for Population and Family Planning, has just launched the project "Community-based child care and development" sponsored by the Japanese Fund for Poverty Reduction with the total amount of US $2.1 million in Đông Hà Town, Quảng Trị Province.

Accordingly, the project will be carried out from 2009 to 2011 in Đakrông and Hướng Hóa, two mountainous districts of Quảng Trị province, Minh Hóa in Quảng Bình Province and Thủ Dầu Một Town and Dĩ An District in Bình Dương Province.

The aim of the project is to change the parental behavior of health care and nutrition for their newborn infants and below-3-year-old children, reduce 6% of malnutrition among under-6-year-old children in ethnic minorities as well as improve children's health and spirit.
