More foreign leaders extend congratulations to new Vietnamese State President
VGP – Leaders of Cambodia, Singapore, Ukraine, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea and Italy have extended congratulations to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong upon his election as the State President of Viet Nam for the remainder of the 2016-2021 tenure.
Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni expressed his belief that under the leadership of State President Nguyen Phu Trong, Viet Nam will continue obtaining greater achievements and playing an important role in the region and the world.
Singaporean President Halima Yacob and PM Lee Hsien Loong stressed Viet Nam and Singapore have maintained good cooperation across fields, especially economy, finance, security and defense, sharing a number of common interests, and coordinating closely in ASEAN and other multilateral mechanisms.
The Singapore leaders expect to work with State President Trong to further foster the bilateral ties.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expects to meet State President Trong soon to discuss on bilateral ties and international issues of common concern in a bid to accelerate the comprehensive relations with Viet Nam.
President of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly Kim Yong Nam expressed his belief that the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries will continue broadening in the future.
President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in highly valued State President Trong’s great contributions to the advancement of the strategic partnership between Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea.
Italian President Sergio Mattarella expressed his belief that the Viet Nam-Italy strategic partnership, signed in 2013 on the occasion of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to Italy, will develop comprehensively across fields on both bilateral and multilateral aspects.
On the occasion Presidents of Iran, Panama, Algeria, Belarus, Mozambique and leaders of various foreign political parties also cabled messages of congratulations to Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong./.
