More agro-products granted with PGI
VGP – There will be 26 agricultural specialties more to have the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) by 2010 under the on-going assistance program for enterprises to develop their intellectual properties.

The program, approved by the PM in April 2005 and lasting in the period of 2005-2010, aims at raising awareness of intellectual property and edging competitiveness of made-in-Việt Nam produce.
Under regulations, any agricultural product with recognized intellectual property rights or PGI will be put under strict management over quality, model and label.
So far, 29 types of famous local agro-products have been granted with PGI. And 26 new ones are expected to be included in the list.
