More Vietnamese citizens brought home from Africa and Europe

The flight was conducted under the coordination between the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Viet Nam’s representative agencies in Africa and France, and competent agencies of the host countries.

The passengers onboard included children aged under 18, students who had completed their courses, the elderly, those with illness, stranded tourists, and guest workers whose visas and contracts expired.

In the context of the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions imposed by many countries, Viet Nam’s representative agencies in Africa actively worked with the host authorities to inform Vietnamese citizens of registration for repatriation, as well as supported the citizens to travel from African nations to the airport in Paris.

The Vietnamese Embassy in France also sent officials to directly arrive at the airport to assist the citizens to complete the required boarding procedures.

In order to ensure the health of citizens and prevent the spread of the disease, Viet Nam Airlines strictly implemented the security, safety and epidemiological measures during the flight. Right upon their landing at the Da Nang International Airport, all the crew member and passengers received medical checks and were put under concentrated quarantine in accordance with regulations.

In the near future, more flights will continue to be conducted by Vietnamese authorities, Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and domestic airlines, to bring home Vietnamese citizens from foreign countries, on the basis of the pandemic’s developments at home and overseas, citizens’ aspirations and domestic quarantine capacity.

This is the 61st rescue flight organized since April 10, bringing home 14,993 citizens from foreign countries and territories, official data showed./.
