MoT begins construction of Nội Bài Int’l Terminal 2

VGP – The Ministry of Transport (MoT) and the Northern Airport Corporation on Sunday kick-started the construction of the Passenger Terminal 2 of the Nội Bài International Airport.

Covering an area of nearly 140,000m2, the four-storey terminal has total investment capital of over JPY75 billion.

The terminal is expected to reduce overload on the terminal 1 which received ten million turns of passengers annually.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải praised relevant ministries, project owners, and contractors for their good preparations for the construction of the terminal 2.

The terminal 2, expected to be completed by the end of 2014, was designed to handle 10 million passengers per year.

It has already been designed to provide high-quality services, smooth passenger flow, future scope for expansion, and enhanced security, guaranteeing commercial success.
