Foreigners who expect to work in Việt Nam are required to submit to employers a job application form, criminal record, curriculum vitae, health certificate, and compulsorily, a certificate of qualifications.

Foreign artisans or experienced practitioners who have no professional certificate are obliged to present a 5-year working confirmation. Football players have to hand in a list of clubs for which they have played.

Right after acquiring labor certificate, employees and employers must sign labor contracts in accordance with Việt Nam’s laws.

When overseas employees move to work in provinces and cities (not those where they stay and work regularly) for ten consecutive days or 30 days within a year, their employers or Vietnamese partners must inform, in writing, the department of labor, war invalids and social affairs of the destination provinces.
