Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue

The Deputy PM chaired a meeting with some ministries and agencies on price management scenarios in 2019.

The Ministry of Finance and the General Statistics Office forecast that CPI would be stable or experience a negative growth in November. CPI would be kept under 4%.

The goal of under 4% CPI growth rate would be feasible, said Deputy PM Hue. He assigned the Ministry of Health to work with relevant ministries and agencies to draft a circular guiding the adjustment of basic salaries in medical services in line with Decree 72/2018/ND-CP on statutory pay rate for public officials, public employees and armed forces' personnel.

Ministries and localities were asked to keep a close watch on price fluctuations in the domestic and global markets; properly regulate demand and supply of goods; stabilize prices at the year end; and craft price management scenarios for 2019 in order to keep inflation rate under 4%.

Public service costs and prices of essential materials including electricity, coal, healthcare, and education would be adjusted with regard to inflation control./.
