MoH reports more A/H1N1 cases
VGP – The Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday reported that 226 A/H1N1 cases had been confirmed until late July 5, without any death.
The majority of the cases (196) are living in the South, 21 in the North and 9 in the Central Region.
Out of the total number, 123 patients have recovered and left hospitals. Others who are being quarantined and treated in healthcare centers show good signs.
In Việt Nam, the swine flu A/H1N1 has not spread in the community and no death reported.
The biggest risk is that it is difficult to predict the metamorphosis of the virus A/H1N1 in the environment, said Mr. Nguyễn Huy Nga, Director of the MoH’s Preventive Medicine and Environment Department.
He advised people to protect themselves and strictly follow the MoH’s recommendations.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 30 manufacturers are producing the vaccine against A/H1N1 flu. However, it would take 5-6 months for the first batch of the vaccine to come out.
Việt Nam can also produce the vaccine in early 2010, said the MoH.
