The decision details main targets and tasks assigned to each agency in the MoIT, along with requirements on deadlines and the outcomes of the tasks.

The main tasks, including the prompt building of legal documents on the CPTPP implementation, particularly in export-import management, trace of origin and competitiveness, will be carried out in two phases.

The first phase will begin this year, while the second will be launched in 2020-2025 period.

In addition, the ministry will step up communication work on the CPTPP in various media channels to ensure businesses’ understanding of the multilateral trade agreement.

Meanwhile, relevant agencies are instructed to devise measures to improve domestic firms’ competitiveness through export market development programmes, and provide support for them in trade protection cases.

Further, the MoIT will coordinate and participate in activities of the CPTPP Commission and sub-committees, as well as other tasks in the framework of the trade agreement.-VNA
