Mekong Delta’s export turnover up 6.3%

VGP – The Mekong Delta earned US$1 billion from exports in October, raising the total to US$9.2 billion over the past 10 months, fulfilling 85% of the year’s plan and a year-on-year increase of 6.3%.

The exports of rice and aquatic products reached more than US$5 billion, according to the Southwest Steering Committee.

The southern provinces of Long An, Ca Mau, An Giang, Dong Thap, Tien Giang and Can Tho were honored as big export earners.

In 2014, these provinces have actively expanded export market, strived for higher market share as well as seeking for new markets and accelerating exports to large ones.

Besides, they have also focused on renewing technology, expanding production scale and concentrating on high competitive products.
