The aforementioned goal is part of the master plan on the development of the Lang Co-Canh Duong national tourist site in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue until 2025, with a vision towards 2030, which has been recently approved by the Prime Minister.

According to the plan, the Lang Co-Canh Duong national tourist site is situated in the Chan May-Lang Co economic zone, covering 9,490 hectares in Lang Co town and PhuLoc district’s Loc Vinh commune. The area of the core zone planned for tourism development is 1,350 hectares.

Under the plan, the Lang Co-Canh Duong tourist site will strive to become a leading important destination of ThuaThien-Hue and the Central region by 2025, with a synchronous and modern technical infrastructure system and an attractive investment environment capable of drawing tourism development projects, while meeting the criteria and being recognized as a national tourist site. By 2030, the tourist site is expected to develop into an international-level destination.

The Lang Co-Canh Duong national tourist site will strive to receive over 1.5 million tourist arrivals by 2025, including around 600,000 international arrivals. The figures are hoped to increase to 2.5 million and 950,000 arrivals, respectively, by 2030. The site is expected to earn approx. VND3.4 trillion (US$146.2 million) in revenues from tourists, while creating jobs for 7,000 direct workers by 2025.

As planned, the Lang Co-Canh Duong national tourist site will develop the major tourist products of resort, ecotourism, golf, sports, and high-tech recreation, and develop auxiliary tourism products as well.
