Malaysian and Vietnamese navies step up cooperation

VGP - Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang in Ha Noi on June 28 received Chief of Navy of Malaysia Admiral Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulzaman, who is on a working visit in Viet Nam to boost naval cooperation between the two countries.

At the reception, Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang spoke highly of the naval collaboration between Viet Nam and Malaysia over the past time.

The defence partnership has witnessed new developments and reaped practical outcomes, he said.

The regular exchanges between the two countries’ naval ships have significantly contributed to enhancing the bilateral cooperative ties, he added. 

For his part, Admiral Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulzaman expressed his belief that bilateral naval cooperation will see new steps of development, helping further deepen the defence partnership between the two countries.
