Malaysia regards VN as its "Close and Important" Partner
VGP – Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Ha Noi on Monday evening, starting his first official visit to Viet Nam until August 28.

He was welcomed at the airport by Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung.
During the visit, Prime Minister Mahathir is expected to hold talks with Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc to discuss on bilateral cooperation as well as regional and international issues of common concern.
According to an announcement of the Malaysian Foreign Ministry, Viet Nam is a “close and important” partner of Malaysia.
Mahathir’s official visit will provide an opportunity for both countries to consolidate the already close bilateral ties and further reinforce the commitment outlined in the framework of the Strategic Partnership signed in August 2015./.
