VNGOP – Acting on behalf of the PM, Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm agreed on April 12 with the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) to represent the Vietnamese Government to propose the Japanese Government provide equipment worth of US$ 43,000 for the project "Vietnam-Japan human resource coopeation center (VJCC)" in its stage 2.

The Ministry of Education and Training was assigned to take over and use the equipment in line with current regulations.

The VJCC was founded at the Hanoi University of Foreign Trade. Under the project, the Japanese Government granted a nonrefundable aid to build the Center's facilities. The VJCC has up to date provided 15 business courses to 520 trainees and 14 advance-level Japanese language courses to 250 students. A library was also opened, attracting over 350 regular readers. The Center focuses not only on educational activities but also cultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan.
