MOET heightens vigilance over A/H1N1 flu

The action plan paves the way for the establishment of healthcare steering committees at every school and university prior to August 15.

The MOET’s steering committee will coordinate with the National Steering Committee for Human Influenza Prevention and Control and relevant ministries to propose the closure of educational establishments in urgent cases.

It will also cooperate with the Ministry of Health to prepare for medicines and healthcare equipment to prevent the epidemic outbreak.

The action plan was introduced following an emerging situation of community-level transmission of influenza A/H1N1 when 54 students and teachers in the Ngô Thời Nhiệm High School in Hồ Chí Minh City were tested to be infected with the virus.

Until 5 PM on July 21, 443 cases were confirmed positive to the A/H1N1 virus in Việt Nam with no death.
