MIT to build a WTO notification network

VNGOP – Acting on behalf of the PM, Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm on August 28 delivered his opinions on transparentization and notification within the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The Deputy PM entrusted the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) to collaborate with relevant agencies in drafting the plan on functions, obligations, organizational structure and operation mechanism of the network on notification and enquiry about WTO. The plan must be submitted to the PM for consideration and approval before October 15, 2007.

Ministries and relevant agencies are required to provide information to the MIT to review and report to the WTO Secretariat. Obligations relating to the Agreements on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) and on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS) will be realized under the approved mechanism.
