MICE tourism: New trend for development in Quảng Ngãi
VGP - MICE tourism – namely Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition - has opened a promising alternative for tourism development in the central province of Quảng Ngãi, attracting visitors and introducing the province’s tourist images.

As a coastal province, Quảng Ngãi is endowed with many nice beaches, picturesque landscapes, and historical sites. Nevertheless, its tourism sector fails to create an exceptional impression like the Culture-Tourism Festival in Huế City or the “Two heritage sites in a destination” program of Quảng Nam Province.
As a matter of fact, promotion of MICE tourism opens up a new route for the province.
It was reported that the number of visitors has annually surged by 10-15% in recent years.
In the early ten months of 2008, the province welcomed more than 200,000 guests.
Quảng Ngãi has hosted many seminars and conferences for both domestic and foreign investors to seek for cooperation and pay visit to the Dung Quất Economic Zone as an attraction, with such major projects as Dung Quất oil refinery and shipbuilding factory.
MICE has been promoted in many countries since this model brings about a greater value than individual or group tours. MICE development stimulates the mushrooming of hotels, convention centers, restaurants and malls.
