Vietnamese litchi is a favorite in China

The agreement, inked between MARD and China's Ministry of Agriculture, will come into effect since July 1.

Under the agreement, the two sides agreed to adopt traceability measures to protect customers and ensure fair trade between the two countries' plant exports.

Việt Nam and China pledged to exchange each other their lists of farms, orchards and packaging sites.

Việt Nam’s first five fruits to be standardized are litchi, pitaya (dragon fruit), banana, watermelon and longan.

Especially, pitaya planted in Bình Thuận Province is recognized to meet the Global Partnership for Good Agricultural Practice (GlobalGAP).

The agreement is considered a good step for Việt Nam's fruits to penetrate the international markets.
