The bridge crosses the Binh Di River, connecting Long Binh international border gate of Viet Nam and Chrey Thom border gate of Cambodia.

It was ground broken in early 2014 with a total length of 440 meters, a width of 13 meters, and two lanes. The bridge allows vehicles to operate at a designed capacity of 80 kilometers per hour.

The bridge has a total investment of US$ 38 million sourced from the two Governments.

Addressing the event, PM Phuc highlighted the significance of the bridge to promoting economic growth and strengthening solidarity between the two neighboring countries.

Mr. Phuc proposed the An Giang People’s Committee work with the Cal Dal local authorities to manage export and migration activities.

The Ministry of Finance was asked to work with the Cambodian Ministry of  Economy and Finance to accomplish credit and financial procedures.

The Ministry of Transport was assigned to cooperate with the Cambodian side to finalize the rest works; manage the bridge and maintenance.

Cambodian PM Hun Sen repeated Viet Nam’s support to overthrow the Pol Pot regime and assist Cambodian people to escape from the Khmer rouge.

The Cambodian PM treasured Viet Nam’s backing in national construction and development.

According to Mr. Hun Sen, the bridge represents a symbol of solidarity and friendship between the two countries, practically celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and Cambodia (June 24, 1967-June 24, 2017).

The PM also took the occasion to thank contractors, workers, and local authorities and people for accomplishing the project./.
