Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne and Head of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan co-chaired the event to begin activities to celebrate the 45-year diplomatic relations and five-year strategic partnership in 2018.

Speaking at the ceremony, the French Minister of State Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne said the 45th founding anniversary of Viet Nam-France diplomatic relations is a milestone in the bilateral ties.

In the coming time, the two countries should further strengthen their diplomatic, economic, commercial, educational and investment activities, including the early completion of cooperative projects in Vietnam such as the Hanoi's urban railway route No 3, and the French Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, he added.

In turn, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan highly valued the fine relations between two countries and expressed his hope for a cooperative and developmental future of the two countries.

Emphasising that 2018 is a very important year for the two countries, the Vietnamese official said he believed that the two countries’ time-honoured relations would continue to create opportunities for Viet Nam and France to promote exchanges and develop relations in all areas.

The logo features the image of a Vietnamese woman wearing a “non la” (palm-leaf conical hat) and a red “ao dai” (traditional dress) holding hands with a French woman wearing a beret and a white blue plaid dress.

It will be used at all events celebrating the 45th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.
