Legislature to elect State President, approve CPTPP at next session

VGP - The 14th National Assembly will cast vote of confidence on those holding the positions it elected or approved, during the 6th working session scheduled to open on October 22.

October 18, 2018 8:08 PM GMT+7

Secretary-General and Chairman of the NA’s Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc announced at a press conference on Thursday.

The vote of confidence will be made before question-and-answer sessions to ensure equality amongst those being voted on, he noted.

Phuc said law-makers will elect new State President, consider the dismissal of Truong Minh Tuan from the post of Minister of Information and Communications, and vote on the appointment of a new Minister of Information and Communications.

Regarding lawmaking activities, they will discuss the approval of nine draft laws, including those on anti-corruption, the people’s public security force, and amnesty.

The Legislature is also expected to approve the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
