Leading doctors seek way to treat serious patients

VGP – The Treatment Sub-committee of the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control summoned an online meeting with leading doctors to diagnose and treat patients who are suffering from serious conditions.

According to the Ministry of Health, Viet Nam is home to 1,477 active cases of which 71.6% of patients displayed no clinical signs.

However, 49 COVID-19 patients have taken a turn for the worse.  Over 30 patients of them were seriously ill and were placed on invasive ventilators. Up to 16 patients struggled with extremely critical conditions.

Especially, two required (Patient 2983 and Patient 3019) are in extremely critical conditions and required ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) due to many underlying health conditions.

The group of leading medical experts came from Bach Mai General Hospital, Hue Central Hospital, Cho Ray Hospital, Central Hospital of Tropical Diseases, HCMC Hospital of Tropical Diseases, Da Nang Hospital, Da Nang Lung Hospital, Bac Ninh General Hospital, Bac Giang General Hospital.

The same day, Viet Nam confirmed its 37th death related to the COVID-19 pandemic, who had suffered from underlying health conditions./.
