Leaders receive Chinese counterparts' congratulations

VNGOP - The Vietnamese leaders, who were elected at the 12th National Assembly's on-going session, have received congratulations from their Chinese counterparts.

Nguyễn Phú Trọng, who was re-elected Chairman of the 12th National Assembly, got cheers from Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress.

In his July 27 message, Wu said he would work with Chairman Trong in an effort to continuously fortify the two legislative bodies' friendship and cooperation.

State President Nguyễn Minh Triết meanwhile received President Hu Jintao's warm applaud for his win for another term.

President Hu Jintao said he was pleased to see constant developments in traditional friendship, neighbourliness, and cooperation between China and Viet Nam under the motto "friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, long term stability and looking towards the future".

President Hu noted, "Leaders of the two countries have maintained regular contacts, economic and trade cooperation has grown steadfastly, negotiations on territorial and border issues has continuously gained progress, and cooperation in other fields has been carried out in a broad manner."

The same day, Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng received a congratulatory message from Premier Wen Jiabao in which the Chinese government leader spoke about the achievements that the two countries have obtained in a wide range of areas, saying he would join hands with PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng to ratchet up the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong has also sent a congratulatory message to Nguyễn Thị Doan, who was elected Vice President of Viet Nam./. (VNA)
