Leaders congratulate China on National Day

VGP - General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan separately sent messages of congratulations to General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Li Zhanshu, respectively, on the occasion of China’s 71st National Day (October 1, 1949-October 1, 2020).

In the messages, the Vietnamese leaders congratulated China on the achievements recorded over the past 71 years, believing that China would continue to attain greater achievements in the cause of reform and openness and building of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The leaders affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State and people always attach importance to advancing healthy and stable relations between Viet Nam and China; stand ready to cooperate with China to promote equal and mutually beneficial cooperation; satisfactorily address existing issues; promote stable and sustainable development of the Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, thus making contributions to the peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

On this occasion, Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh also cabled a congratulatory message to Chinese State Councilor, Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Earlier on September 30, Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong held phone conversation with Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, during which Xi once again congratulated Viet Nam on its 75th National Day as well as the achievements gained by the Vietnamese people over the past 75 years.

Xi expressed his belief that the Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, will reap greater achievements in their national construction and development cause and successfully organize the party congresses at all levels and the 13th National Party Congress.

The Party and State of China attach great importance to the neighboring and traditionally friendly relations with Viet Nam, stressed Xi.

He affirmed that China will continue proactive support for Viet Nam to well undertake the roles as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the tenure 2020-2021 and ASEAN 2020 Chair.

The Chinese leader also said he is willing to enhance strategic exchanges with Vietnamese senior leaders to promote practical and effective cooperation across fields in order to further broaden and deepen the bilateral ties and to contribute to peace and stability in the region and the world.

Xi spoke highly of Viet Nam’s outcomes in combatting the COVID-19 pandemic and the sides’ cooperation in this fight.
