Laos confers noble medals to Vietnamese senior leaders

VNGOP – Acting on behalf of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and State, Mr. Bounnhang Vorachit, member of the LPRP Politburo, standing member of the LPRP Secretariat, Vice President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic presented on September 05 in Hà Nội nine National Gold Medals and nine First-grade Freedom Medals to senior leaders and former senior leaders of the Vietnamese Party, State and Government.

Vice President Bounnhang Vorachit emphasized that the conferment expressed the Lao Party and State’s acknowledgement of Vietnamese leaders’ great contributions to the common revolutionary cause of the two countries as well as of their efforts in strengthening and developing the Laos-Việt Nam special friendship and cooperation.
On behalf of the medalists, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng stated that the noble awards from the Lao Party and State are meaningful, vividly reflecting the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Việt Nam and Laos.
Winners of National Gold Medal:
- State President Nguyễn Minh Triết and his predecessors: Võ Chí Công, Lê Đức Anh, and Trần Đức Lương
- PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, his predecessors: Võ Văn Kiệt and Phan Văn Khải
- National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng and his predecessor Nguyễn Văn An
Winners of First-grade Freedom Medal:
- Politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Viêt Nam: Trương Tấn Sang
- Deputy PMs: Nguyễn Sinh Hùng, Phạm Gia Khiêm, and Trương Vĩnh Trọng
- Minister of National Defense Phùng Quang Thanh
- Hồ Chí Minh City Party Committee Secretary Lê Thanh Hải
- Head of the CPV Central Committee’s Inspection Commission Nguyễn Văn Chi
