At the meeting, Minister Dung stated that the cooperation between the two ministries is increasingly elevated, with practical and effective results for the benefit of the two peoples.

The Lao side, in particular the Laos Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, has actively coordinated and supported the Vietnamese relevant agencies to perform well in the search, collection and repatriation of Vietnamese experts and volunteer soldiers’ remains who died in Laos in past wars.

Now, in addition to the cooperation on labour as well as drafting and issuing related documents, the cooperation between the two ministries have been expanding to other fields such as vocational training and social insurance, he informed.

In turn, Lao Deputy PM Sonsay Siphandone praised the importance of the visit by the Vietnamese delegation, saying that the cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Laos Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare has achieved positive results in recent years.

He also expressed his sincere thanks to Viet Nam for its support and assistance, including the support from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, in helping Laos overcome the consequences of a hydroelectric dam breach in southern Laos last year.
