Laos Red Cross officials trained in VN

VGP - Lao officials are attending a course on natural disaster response and other humanitarian training held by Viet Nam Red Cross (VRC) in Ha Noi.

August 19, 2014 6:51 PM GMT+7

The training is part of a cooperation agreement between the two countries’ Red Cross (RC) societies signed last year.

At the opening ceremony on August 19, President of the VRC Central Committee Nguyen Hai Duong stressed this is the first time the course has been organised to share experience and policies and guidelines on humanitarian activities of the two Red Cross organisations.

During the course which will last until September 11, the training includes instruction on developing Red Cross societies, resource development, humanitarian diplomacy, health care, blood donation and coping with disasters, among others.

The trainees will also make fact-finding tours to Vinh Phuc, Thanh Hoa and Quang Ninh provinces  as part of the training.
