Lao leaders convey condolences over passing of former Party chief Do Muoi

VGP - The Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, Government, and the Lao Front for National Construction’s Central Committee on October 2 extended condolences to the Communist Party of Viet NamCentral Committee, National Assembly, Government, and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee over the passing of former Party General Secretary Do Muoi.

Former Party General Secretary Do Muoi

The message writes that: “We highly value the achievements and great contributions of Mr. Do Muoi during the struggle for national independence in the past, as well as in the nation-building and construction of the country during the 80 plus years of his revolutionary career.

Mr. Do Muoi made to the reinforcement of friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, and peoples.

The passing of Do Muoi is a loss of a close friend of the Party, State, and people of Laos, it added.

 The Lao side also extended deep condolences to the family of Do Muoi.

He was born on February 2, 1917, and passed away at 23:12 on October 1 at Military Hospital 108 in Ha Noi.
