Lam Kinh special heritage reminds young generations about Lam Son uprising against the domination of the Chinese Ming invaders in the 15th century

The event, aiming to mark the 595th anniversary of the Lam Son uprising to fight against the domination of the Chinese Ming invaders in the 15th century and commemorate national hero Le Loi, manifested today generations’ tribute to predecessors’ sacrifice and devotion to national defense against foreign invaders for national independence, sovereignty and development, said Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan.

Appreciating Lam Kinh’s valuable intangible and tangible cultural values, which need to be protected and promoted, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung signed a decision to classify it a special national heritage site on September 27, 2012.

On behalf of the PM, President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan presented the certificate to Thanh Hoa province’s leaders, saying that the recognition manifested Party and State policy of preserving and promoting national cultural heritage values, particularly those held by Lam Kinh.

Lam Kinh is known as the second capital of Viet Nam after Le Loi defeated the Chinese Ming invaders, then he came to throne and set up the country’s capital in Thang Long (Ha Noi now), which is called Dong Kinh.
