VGP - The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) has decided to temporarily suspend sending workers overseas till April 30 due to complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ministry also tasked overseas Vietnamese labor management boards to encourage Vietnamese guest workers to stay calm, comply with the host countries' regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control, and avoid traveling to the disease-hit areas.

The management boards are also requested to update situations and ensure rights and benefits of the Vietnamese laborers affected by the pandemic.

More than 560,000 Vietnamese are working under definite-term labor contracts in 36 countries and territories, according to the ministry.

Of the total, 48,000 laborers are working in the Republic of Korea and 230,000 students and laborers in Japan, the ministry added./.
