Kuwait gives loans to transport infrastructure development in Điện Biên Province

VGP – Representatives of the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance and the Kuwaiti Fund on March 12 singed an agreement on a US $14 million loan from the Fund for Arab Economic Development for the Chà Tở-Mường Tùng Road Project in the northeastern mountainous province of Điện Biên.

The Chà Tở-Mường Tùng Road connects Mường Lay Town and Mường Nhé, the poorest district in Điện Biên, so as to facilitate the movement of goods and people.

So far, through the Kuwait Fund, the State of Kuwait has lent Việt Nam KWD 34 million (US $124 million) for eight projects on rural infrastructure.

Some projects have been completed and put into operation, including the Dầu Tiếng Irrigation Work, Vân Đình Irrigation Work, and the Đắc Tả-Ngọc Linh Road.
