Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue hosted a reception for the Kirin Vice President on August 17 in Ha Noi.

Mr. Keisuke Nishimura reported that after over 100 years of operation, Kirin became a global group with 188 subsidiaries, 40,000 staff, and earned US$ 18.7 billion of revenue last year. So far, the group is operating in two major areas, namely food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals and biochemical.

In Viet Nam, Kirin cooperated with Interfood to develop Wonderfarm and shook hands with Vietnamese partners in beer and beverage production.

Last year, Kirin supported Haberco and Sabeco to send staff to Japan to learn sewage treatment and cost reduction.

According to the Vice President, the Japanese group always regards ASEAN as a key economic region and investment destination. With large-scale market, high economic growth rate, and the ongoing fast progress of SOEs equitization in Viet Nam, Kirin expects to boost long-term strategic investment in Sabeco.

Thanks to abundant experience of product development and technical production, Kirin hoped to make contribution to further development of Sabeco, the guest leader asserted.

In addition, Kirin also respects local culture and promises to keep regulatory machine and local label, thus contributing to social development.

For his part, Deputy PM Hue hailed the investment plan of Kirin in Viet Nam.

The Vietnamese Government has spared no effort to improve the business environment; raise competitiveness; and facilitate both domestic and foreign investors, said the host leader.

The domestic beverage market in Viet Nam is promising, said Mr. Hue.

According to Deputy Hue, Vietnamese big brand names such as Habeco, Sabeco, and Vinamilk were among those subjected to equtization by 2020. Thus, Viet Nam welcomes Kirin to join the process.

Mr. Hue also suggested Kirin invest in non-alcoholic beverage made from fresh fruits./.
