Khanh Hoa welcomes 2 millionth foreign visitor in 2017

VGP - The Khanh Hoa Province Department of Tourism has hosted its 2 millionth international tourist of the year.

The lucky man - Kim Sun Won, who arrived on Vietjet flight No.839 from Seoul 's Incheon airport to Cam Ranh, was presented with special gifts including free-of-charge services of Vietjet for the next six months and two free nights at Vinpearl NhaTrang Resort, and others.

The 1,999,999th and 2,000,001st foreign visitors to Khanh Hoa were also from the RoK.

In 2017, the province is estimated to welcome nearly 5.5 million visitors and earned about VND17.3 trillion (US$761.2 million) from tourism activities. The number of foreign arrivals to Khanh Hoa has to date surpassed 2 million, up 69% from last year.

Khanh Hoa has become an ideal destination for both domestic and foreign travellers thanks to its intriguing sea and island tourism, gentle climate, stable prices and quality services.

The central city of Da Nang will also host 143,000 tourists, including 82,000 foreigners, visiting during the Christmas and New Year vacation from December 24 through January 2.

The number of tourists coming to Da Nang by airplane is expected to increase in 2018 as more cheap direct flights have been launched since 2016

The city’s tourism authority said 65,000 tourists have already booked rooms at hotels and resorts to explore the city’s landmarks.

It said 61,000 tourists will take 357 flights from Australia, the U.S., Europe, Japan, China and the Republic of Korea to the city during the Christmas season.

The authority said the year of 2018 would see increasing flights from Incheon, Busan, Deagu of the Republic of Korea, Hong Kong and Osaka as budget airlines began launching their direct flights in 2016.
