Khanh Hoa expects to welcome vaccinated international tourists from November

VGP – The south-central province of Khanh Hoa expected to welcome international tourists who are fully vaccinated from November on a pilot basis.

The local authorities of Khanh Hoa sent a proposal regarding this pilot program to the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism for approval. 

The province has successfully put the disease under control as 86.6 percent of its residential areas are categorized as “green zones”.

Nearly all 100% of adult population has been partially vaccinated and all adults are expected to be fully vaccinated by the end of November. 

The locality boasts favorable weather conditions. Tourism sites in Cam Ranh Peninsula are isolated from residential areas with 12 resorts, 6,000 five-star rooms, and 100 percent of fully-vaccinated tourism staff.

In addition, Cam Ranh international airport is capable of handling 4 million guests each year.

Under the proposal, the locality plans to trial the "vaccine passport" entry for international visitors on charter flights in two phases. 

In the first phase from November 15 to December 31, 2021, the locality will welcome visitors to resorts in Bai Dai, Cam Lam.

In the second phase from January 1 to March 31, 2022, additional resorts, namely Vinpearl on Hon Tre Island, Merperle Hon Tam, Champa Island Nha Trang will be opened to tourists.

In the short term, the province expects to receive fully vaccinated tourists from China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei, Russia, Australia, France, and Germany where the COVID-19 pandemic has been well controlled. 

Since the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence in Viet Nam, Khanh Hoa province reported 8,124 coronavirus infections./.
