Thrift practice and supervision of budget expenses are very essential

The MoF will do its utmost to attain an increase of 5% in collecting the State budget, tighten public spending, and maximize effectiveness of the budget use.

Some specific measures include (1) properly readjusting import tax in order to narrow the trade deficit, (2) raising some export duties for preserving natural resources, (3) ensuring fuel supplies for domestic production, (4) keeping the demand-supply balance of commodities and services, (5) improving the efficiency of investment capital.

The Ministry will closely work with People's Committees at all levels to timely and effectively implement policies on social welfare and supervise financial activities as well as enterprises’ observation of ordinances on prices.

It also keeps realizing the State-managed market price roadmap. In the 2nd quarter of this year, the Ministry, in coordination with other related ministries, agencies and local authorities, will check prices of different products, such as coal, cement, medicines, steel and building materials.

The MoF and other competent agencies will plan to reduce some fees and service charges as well as abolish improper ones.

To tackle trade deficit, it is necessary to penetrate into potential markets and build technical barriers in comply with international standards for facilitating domestic manufacture.
