Key diplomatic events next week
VGP – Nepal’s Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli will pay an official visit to Viet Nam and attend the United Nations Day of Vesak 2019 from May 9-15 at the invitation of Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang released the news at the ministry’s press conference on Thursday.
Hang also told a room of reporters that India’s Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will pay an official visit to Viet Nam and attend the United Nations Day of Vesak 2019 from May 9-12.
This is his first visit to Viet Nam since he took office in October 2017, which aims to consolidate and enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership with Viet Nam across fields.
Next week, Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah will also make an official visit to Viet Nam from May 16-17 at the invitation of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Ministe and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
Saifuddin Abdullah is expected to hold talks with Minh and meet with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc./.
